All items are handmade and are one of a kind from foraged wild and domesticated plants. I collect whatever is in season on my daily walks, usually in the Philadelphia area. The composition of my pieces range from traditional (using whole, pressed flowers and leaves) to more abstract. Each piece involves laying jewelry-grade resin in several layers, over several sittings.
All handmade jewelry will have natural imperfections, and thats what gives each piece their alluring details, originality and soulful nature. Variations and "imperfections" are not unwelcome.
Brass 40mm long honeycomb sweeties - I usually make these for my local Honey Fest, which is not going on this year - and am, for the first time, offering online. Brass honeycombs overlaid with 1) poison hemlock or 2) elderflower.
2) The Elderflower tree’s name is derived from the Anglo Saxon word "aeld," which translates to "fire." Known by many different names, elderflower is also referred to as the "Elder Mother," "Devil’s Eye" and the "Countryman’s Medicine Chest."
The flowers have a long-standing reputation as a treatment for all kinds of inflammatory and congestive conditions of the respiratory system. I use the flowers and the berries medicinally as well as in my art.
Finished with about 20 inches of gold plated brass chain and lobster clasp.
