I've always worked with hydrangea, and I always will. Hydrangeas now have been hybridized many more than any other plant, but I found this perfect flower somewhere, just as thick and sturdy as a leaf, pale pink and intricately textured.
This one of a kind pendant was made by layering .999 silver art clay, multiple times, directly on the flower. During the firing process, the organic material burns away leaving fine detail captured in silver. Art Clay Silver is manufactured using 100% recycled and reclaimed silver.
According to Aida, the Japanese manufacturer of Art Clay, the silver is from athletic wear, eyeglasses, photography supplies, industrial sources, utensils and of course from silver jewelry that has been turned in for reclamation.
Chunky: this piece has heft, and is pure silver. Patinaed and finished to bring out every detail. Finished with a 16 inch long silver plated brass chain with lobster clasp.
