30mm wide and 15mm long silver plated bisected half moon, black backed on one side, overlaid with dried Usnea lichen foraged ethically from a trip to Maine in 2021. I only forage naturally dropped Usnea, never ripping it from its perch in the trees, to ensure I don’t disrupt its reproductive cycle. Philadelphia is too polluted to support lichen, which as a family, has braved five mass extinctions, but it cannot endure air pollution, so specimens like these can only be collected in more pristine habitats. Gorgeous, and fractal, with a nice silver hue.
Finished with an 18 inch long silver plated chain with lobster clasp.
